Bags, Pouches, Clutches!

Dear Sewers,

Halloween is around the corner - and so is winter! In Canada, it gets very chilly before the Trick-or-Treating season so I hope everyone stays warm!

My personal love for patchwork can be clearly seen this week's Helen Zipper Bag and Zipper Pouch ! Utilizing at least the leather mentioned from last week's post, the pattern is the product of my favorite form of needlework! It wasn't easy though coming up with the perfect color combination. With so many scrap fabrics from previous works, the results were just endless! I hope I selected the best color sets for the sample!

Not only is the Helen Bag easy but it comes with 2 different designs in one as well as the Catherine Clutch and Bag!

Dolls and More Dolls!

Dear Sewers,

This week I was lucky enough to have access to some of my friend's leather! Utilizing this high quality Elk fur, I set out to find a suitable design to maximize the potential of the fine material. And while going through my old sketch book I found a particular bag design I drew 4 years ago! And my was I glad to find it!

The Madigan Bag with its unique two piece body gave me the freedom of using the leather strip to my advantage! It was so exciting - and a bit nostalgic - to see a sketch from some time ago come to real life. Once in a while when I go through my older sketches, I find myself immersed back into those memories and to see them come to life is a special experience indeed.
Inspired by the Madigan Bag, I went onto make a sister design based on its two piece body. Made to be the perfect design to fit your now larger iPhone & wallet, the Tabitha Bag is the perfect companion for your smaller possessions.

Rabbit Hats?

Dear Sewers,

With the autumn leaves slowly falling down, the seasons are changing for colder part of the year. For some of the newborns out there, this will be their first fall & winter.

And for them I've prepared something special this week! The 635 Rabbit Hat Kit was designed with Halloween in mind. During the Trick-or-Treating season it gets chilly here in Canada so the kids have often required something warmer to accompany them. As a parent it’s always more assuring to have another layer of clothing preventing the flu or cold

Dear Sewers,

I've prepared two bag patterns in inspiration of my previous Bags book, the Modern Classics was made with the current trend & the young crowd in mind! The stylish yet convenient design was a sure hit with my teenage daughter as the pattern was completed! Not only that, but my son even requested a bag - with obvious modifications as well :).
