Cupcakes and Donuts!

Dear Sewers,

Lately the children have been lurking around the sewing room and got into the sewing kits. The felt projects especially captivated them – they just won’t stop!

So riding on this theme, I've prepared a sewing kit that utilizes felt and intended for older children. Intended for all children elementary grades 3 and up, the Cara Cupcake Kids Sewing Kit can be easily completed under adult supervision. Another felt kit coming out this week are the Wallis Donuts Kit! And boy was I craving the treats while making them.

The way my children enjoyed the felt sewing kits really inspired me to share this experience with everyone else! The sewing time also allowed for some special time with my daughter, I would definitely recommend this with your student, child, or niece!

Shoulder Bags, Wallets, Kits and more!

Dear Sewers,

Many people come to me for sewing lessons & advice, but a great number of them also happen to be children. And to find the suitable first project was always the most difficult decision.
616 Effie Cupcake Kit
When I taught children how to sew, for the most part, it was their first time to even hold a needle. This made the teaching a harder task and the challenge was to make sewing an enjoyable activity yet still introduce the kid’s to the activity. Introducing the world of sewing to little ones was a tall order.

And boy was it a difficult task to complete! I believe I’ve gotten close to my answer and I hope you all feel the same as well. Starting this week I’ll be releasing Kid’s Sewing Kits through iThinkSew for young children! Starting from kindergarten to elementary, kits for a variety of age groups will be prepared! Please look out for future releases every week.

And the sewing kits are also great for first time adults as well! Or maybe you want to gift it as well? Either way please look forward to the kit releases!

Sneak Peak?

Here's a little peek for this weeks pattern!

Actually my daughter actually drew the pattern from the designs of Deborah baby shoes and I only helped her out.
It took quite some time to perfect the pattern, but in the end it was worth the effort because the shoes turned out to be an extremely comfortable; I actually wore the unfinished sample for the rest of the day. :D
What do you think? I personally had the feeling that the shoes give off an oriental feeling. I'm not sure... :p
